But that&#8217;s only one reason why it can be a healthy habit to get into.<\/p>\n<p>Meditation has also been shown to increase the volume of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/28913599\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">gray matter in the brain<\/a>, including parts of the brain related to learning and emotion processing, MacDowell says. And it&#8217;s also been shown to help <a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/sites\/alicegwalton\/2015\/02\/09\/7-ways-meditation-can-actually-change-the-brain\/#1811e2381465\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">reduce anxiety and depression<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;If meditation is not a daily part of your routine <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bustle.com\/articles\/121407-how-to-start-meditating-6-ways-to-include-it-in-your-daily-life\">aim to add it in<\/a>,&#8221;
